Ennistymon students win sustainable energy award

Post-primary school students from schools all over the Mid-West this week took science to the next level with over 140 projects at SciFest@College 2015 in Limerick Institute of Technology.

As one of the fifteen regional venues hosting a SciFest science fair, SciFest@LIT saw more than 330 students from schools all over the region exhibit almost 140 projects at Limerick Institute of Technology and put their knowledge of science to the test.

Ciara McInerney and Aoibhe Cronin of Scoil Mhuire Ennistymon won the Sustanable Energy Award for their project, An investigation into the use of Fucus serratus and Fucus vesiculosis as a raw material for thermal energy production.
