Brook Catering, a Food Services company based in Cork, have secured a three-year contract to provide full catering services to Shannon Heritage, which operates seven day visitor attractions and four evening entertainment venues throughout Ireland, including Bunratty Castle.

The contract, worth over 2 million euro per annum, will see Brook Catering provide catering services for Shannon Heritage’s medieval banquets, gala dinners, weddings and seasonal events.

Brook Catering won the contract against strong competition in the tender process to become the official food partner of Shannon Heritage, securing 16 jobs and creating approximately 50 jobs during peak season, including chefs, waiting staff and kitchen assistants.

Brook Catering are well experienced in managing large, high-profile events on both a local and national level given their consistent success with the likes of the Rose of Tralee Ball, the Tall Ships Festival and the Cork Chamber Dinner. Since their establishment in 2007, Brook Catering has grown from 2 employees to a total of nearly 200 in 2015.

Outlining the importance of the partnership with Shannon Heritage, Brook Sales & Marketing Director, Sharon O’ Donoghue stated; “This is an important milestone for Brook Catering in developing the Limerick and Clare Region. Shannon Heritage welcomes over 90,000 visitors to its Medieval Banquets and Traditional Irish Night’s each year and we are delighted to become a part of this highly successful operation. We look forward to showcasing the best of Irish produce and suppliers in all of our menus.”

Welcoming Brook Catering’s appointment, John Ruddle, CEO, Shannon Heritage said; “Catering and event services are a critical part of Shannon Heritage’s aim to deliver excellent experiences to all of our visitors. We are delighted to welcome Brook Catering to our team to provide these services and to work with us to bring our food offerings up to a new level and to develop new products and food options for our customers. Their wealth of hospitality and specific venue experience were key elements in the contract win and we look forward to working with them over the coming three years to further enhance our offering to our visitors and guests.”

Shannon Heritage welcomed over 637,000 visitors to their sites in 2014, making their visitor attractions one of the biggest in the Country. Shannon Heritage recently announced that they have secured a €7 million contract to manage and operate the prestigious 1916 GPO Witness History Interpretive Exhibition Centre on O’ Connell Street, Dublin. The museum is expected to attract 300,000 visitors annually.
