Party members also elected Clare native Garrett Greene to the party’s Ard Chomhairle (National Executive) and will serve on the new Committee of 15.  Garrett is a University Law Tutor and trainee Barrister.  He is also a member of Coiste 1916, the committee planning the party’s programme of events to commemorate the centenary of 1916.

Speaking following the Ard Fheis Deputy Dooley said: “I am very pleased to be selected once again by party members to serve as Vice President of the party.  This is an important role and will be increasingly so as we continue with our policy development and election preparations.  Clare Fianna Fáil members will be well represented by Garrett and myself at the monthly National Executive meetings, the main governing body of the party when an Ard Fheis is not in session.”

Fianna Fáil Leader Micheál Martin commented: “ I am delighted to see Timmy returned to the post of Vice President, where he has been an extremely important voice for the membership in our renewal process. I want to congratulate himself and Garrett Greene who was elected to the Committee of 15 of the National Executive.  Crucial organisational and policy decisions will need to be made by the party in the run up to the next election and I great confidence in the team our members have selected.”
