Fianna Fáil members from Clare and across the country gather at the RDS in Dublin at the end of next week to vote on a radical new proposal which will see party members have a say in electing future leaders of the party.
That’s according to the Party’s Vice President Timmy Dooley who commented: “We are going to see one of the most ambitious reform packages ever put before a political party next week. For the first time in the party’s history ordinary grass root members of Fianna Fáil here in Clare and across the country will be given an opportunity to vote in future leadership elections.
“Four years ago the public sent a clear message to all politicians. They wanted real change. They wanted an end to the status quo. Fianna Fáil heard that message loud and clear and we are the only party putting forward proposals that will radically change how we do our business and will be doing the same in our policy proposals for the country in the next election.
“Next week Fianna Fáil members will gather at the RDS for our Ard Fheis. We have ambitious proposals to outline on mortgages, business growth opportunities, childcare, housing and healthcare.
“At a time when economic recovery is not fully secure, or being evenly or fairly felt across the country, the public needs to be given clear choices about who to vote for and why. This is a challenge my party relishes. Far from producing gimmicks and populous policies that won’t stand up to scrutiny Fianna Fáil will run the most substantive, realistic campaign put before the people for many years.
“I urge party members in Clare to take part in next week’s Ard Fheis. Attend, vote and shape the future direction of our party and help establish the platform that will be presented to voters in the forthcoming election. The next election will be one of most crucial moments in our country’s history and I am confident Fianna Fáil will do its part to serve the founders of nation proudly,” added Deputy Dooley.
