Flood risk management study for Lahinch and Liscannor

Funding has been approved for a single coastal erosion and flood risk management study for Liscannor Bay with particular focus on  Clahane, Liscannor and Lahinch.

The news has been welcomed by Clare T.D. and Chairman of the Oireachtas Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade Pat Breen who said: “Following representations, I was pleased to be informed by the Minister of State, with responsibility for the OPW, Simon Harris T.D., today (Tuesday) that the OPW has agreed in principle to provide funding to Clare County Council to undertake this study.”

“I understand that Clare County Council will be tendering for consultants to undertake the study.  This study will provide very important conclusions for flood protection works in these areas and I hope that the report can be finalised as soon as possible,” he added.
