A teenage girl reported missing in Co Clare earlier today has been located by gardaí and airlifted to hospital.
The 16-year-old;s raised the alarm at around lunchtime after they became concerned for her safety.
A large number of gardaí and volunteers from the Killaloe unit of the Irish Coast Guard searched a wooded area near Cratloe for several hours today.
The Shannon based search and rescue helicopter was also requested to assist following a reported sighting of the girl close to Cratloe Woods.
The teenager was located by gardaí at around 6.00pm and taken to Cratloe by car to meet an ambulance.
After being assessed by paramedics it was decided the girl should be airlifted to hospital.
The Irish Coast Guard helicopter landed at the local GAA field where the girl was transferred to their care.
She was flown to University Hospital Limerick where she is undergoing treatment.
