Dunnes Stores Ennis workers hold one-day strike

StrikeStriking workers at Dunnes Stores in Ennis say they have received an “excellent” reaction from the public.

More than 6,000 workers, who are Mandate trade union members, are staging a one-day strike at 109 Dunnes Stores outlets nationwide in a dispute over low-hour contracts, job and income security and the right to trade union representation.

Workers at the Ennis store, where 190 people are employed, have today mounted pickets on the main entrance and at the O’Connell Street entrance.
