Kilkee guesthouse placed on the market

Waters edge 4One of Kilkee’s best known guesthouses has come up for sale with an asking price of €875,000.

Sherry FitzGerald McMahon says “Waters Edge”, which is presently in use as a B & B, comprises a seven-bedroom house with 5,261 sq ft of space.

The Victorian-style guesthouse in the West Clare town’s West End is owned by a local couple who previously renovated two guesthouses in the area, bought the property in the late 1990s and gave it a complete makeover.

Diarmuid McMahon told The Irish Examiner that the property could sell as either a holiday home or a guest house but thinks the former is more likely, on recent sales.

“Kilkee is hugely popular with Limerick people and many have bought holiday homes here,” he added.

The property is for sale by Private Treaty.
