Clare Arts Bursary Scheme announced

artsThe Clare Arts Office has announced details of its 2015 Arts Bursary Programmes.

One bursary for the Tyrone Guthrie Centre in Annaghmakerrig, Co. Monaghan is also being provided to enable one artist of any discipline (music, writing, film, dance, visual arts etc.) the opportunity to stay at the internationally renowned artists’ retreat for up to two weeks, all expenses paid.

Each artist is allocated their own studio in this spectacular setting of woodland and lakes. Interaction with the other resident artists is encouraged and a group dinner takes place each evening. This bursary is open to all professional artists in the county and demand is very high due to the high quality of applications and the number of applications received annually. The closing date for receipt of completed applications is Friday March 20th, 2015 at 4:00 p.m.

A bursary for the Meitheal Summer School which takes place in Limerick in July enables a young Clare traditional musician to attend the school free of charge and covers all tuition fees and accommodation costs. This bursary is open to all young musicians in the county, under the age of 22 who are accepted by Meitheal to participate in the Summer School. The closing date for receipt of completed applications is Friday March 27th, 2015 at 4:00 p.m.

Another bursary is available for one person to attend a course at the 2015 Drama League of Ireland Summer School in UL that takes place in August. The closing date for receipt of completed applications is Friday May 1st, 2015 at 4:00 p.m.

This is also the closing date for a bursary to attend the Irish Youth Choir Residential Summer School which also takes place in the University of Limerick. This will enable one person to attend the school free of charge and covers all tuition fees and accommodation costs. This bursary is open to anyone who successfully auditions for the choir. The closing date for receipt of completed applications is Friday May 1st, 2015 at 4:00 p.m.
