Mayor’s Charity Banquet raises €24,760

Cllr. John Crowe, Cathaoirleach of Clare County Council has confirmed that his recently hosted Mayor’s Charity Banquet raised €24,760 for charity.

All proceeds raised are being distributed amongst the Cathaoirleach’s chosen charities of Carrigoran Day Care Centre and Clare Cancer Support Services, comprising Sláinte an Chláir and West Clare Mini Marathon Cancer Care Centres.

“I wish to sincerely thank all who attended and supported the fundraiser. I would urge the public to continue to support local organisations that are providing much needed services to our community,” stated Cllr. Crowe.

The Mayor’s Charity Banquet was attended by 500 people at Treacy’s West County Hotel on 28th February last.  The night also featured a host of donated prizes, including return flights to New York from United Airlines and accommodation at Fitzpatrick’s Hotel (total value €2,500).
