Orange Wind Alert issued

weather copyAn Orange Alert, the second highest weather warning that can be issued, has been put in place for County Clare.

Strong winds gusting up to 130kph are expected during Friday and Saturday.

Although it will be mild, Met Éireann says the coming days will bring a period of very windy weather which will begin on Friday morning and continue until later on Saturday evening. Southwesterly winds reaching mean speeds will reach 65 to 80 km/h and gusts will range from 110 to 130 km/h.

High ground and exposed coasts will be most at risk.
