Two people are recovering in hospital following a collision between two cars, one of which overturned onto it’s roof.
The crash happened at around 12.40pm at a staggered junction on a hill at Drumquin about 10 kilometres from Ennis on the Kildysart.
It’s understood that one car ploughed into the rear of another vehicle that stopped at a junction. The moving car collided with the stationary vehicle and overturned onto it’s roof.
Three units of the fire brigade along with two ambulances and garda units from Ennis raced to the scene.
The occupants of both cars managed to exist their vehicles with the assistance of paramedics and fire crews.
The two drivers were taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment but their injuries are not said to be serious.
The road remained closed for almost an hour until debris could be cleared and both vehicles removed.
Gardaí from Ennis are investigating the cause of the collision.
