Difficult driving conditions are being experienced around County Clare this morning following overnight snowfall.

Met Éireann is warning of further wintry showers during Tuesday but most of these are expected to turn increasingly to rain or hail overnight and during Wednesday as milder conditions take hold.

Temperatures are forecast to reach double digits by the weekend as a ridge of high pressure builds across the country.

According to Met Éireann: “Temperatures will see a significant rise later this week, both by day and by night. A lot of dry if rather cloudy weather is expected, with just small amounts of rain.”
