Strong winds and wintry showers forecast

weather alertMet Éireann is warning of very windy conditions to persist across County Clare through the second half of Saturday.

A Yellow Alert has been issued for the County with Met Éireann saying that west winds will reach mean speeds 50 to 60 km/h with gusts of over 90km/h, but up to 110km/h. in exposed areas.

An Orange Alert warning of 130km/h gusts on exposed coasts and headlands has been issued for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo.

Meanwhile, even though spring is just around the corner, our weather is expected to turn very cold during Sunday and into the middle of next week. Frequent showers of hail , sleet and snow will affect the county during the period with some accumulations of snow expected on higher ground.

Drier weather is expected for the second half of the week.
