Clare have been paired against Sligo/Leitrim in the quarter-finals of the Oscar Traynor Cup.

The fixture is to be played before the first week of April. Sligo/Leitrim managed to make their way through Group 5 of the Oscar Traynor Cup which included Inishowen, Donegal and Cavan/Monaghan. Clare’s clash is the only confirmed quarter-final tie with some last sixteen games still to be played in order to determine the makeup of the remaining eight teams.

Managed by Mick Shiels, Clare are hoping to go one step further than they did in the 2013/14 campaign where Dublin’s AUL defeated a Liam Murphy managed Clare in the Oscar Traynor Cup final on a scoreline of 2-0.

Sixty days have passed since Clare’s last game in the competition in which they beat Roscommon comfortably 4-0 at the County Grounds. The break in between games has been filled by club action with League leaders, Newmarket Celtic set to take on Clonmel Celtic in the fifth round of the Munster Junior Cup.

Oscar Traynor Quarter-Final Draw:
Limerick League v North Eastern League/Kilkenny
Wexford/Galway League v Kerry League/Defence Forces
Sligo & Leitrim League v Clare League
Dublin AUL v Inishowen League/United Churches League.
