Temperatures will dip as low as -6 degrees Celsius across County Clare tonight.

Met Éireann has issued an Orange Alert, the second highest possible weather alert, for Munster and Leinster and is warning that air temperatures will drop as low as -5 or -6 degrees Celsius.

Despite the chilly night-time temperatures our weather is forecast to remain largely  dry for the foreseeable future as high pressure builds across the country.
