Dr. Maeve Hillery, wife of President Patrick, dies

Dr. Mary B (Maeve) Hillery, the wife of former President of Ireland Patrick Hillery from Spanish Point, has died.

Dr. Hillery (nee Finnegan), a retired Irish doctor, was 91 years of age.

Dr. Hillery is survived by her son John, daughter-in-law Carolyn, grandchildren Sarah, Patrick, Michael and David, sister Angela (Lancashire), brother-in-law David, nieces and nephews and the extended Hillery and Finnegan families.

Her funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, January 13 at 12 noon at St. Fintan’s Church, Sutton, followed by burial at St. Fintan’s Cemetery.

Patrick Hillery died on 12 April 2008 in his Dublin home following a short illness.
